Information Design

"... the practice of presenting information in a way that fosters efficient and effective understanding of it."

MCA-MCC Country Team Visual_Working Doc.jpg

[Above] A training tool I designed to show a matrix-style, multi-partner team structure and how these individuals relate to our main stakeholders. The program was managed by teams in Rabat and Washington DC and was composed of projects (themselves implemented by integrated teams). The colors differentiate cross-functional technical teams (red) with project-specific teams (blue, yellow, green, and purple). Shapes denote the different departments to which the technical and cross-functional teams belong. The burgundy shapes show program leadership, all located in the compact country (Morocco, in this example).

[Above] A process map accompanying a new policy about risk management. The swim lanes represent different departments, and the columns represent phases in the risk reporting process. The map is color-coded and numbered to help give staff visibility about who does what when in order to deliver the integrated report and follow-up on agreed-on mitigation measures.

Special thanks to Mia Choi for her excellent teamwork on both these maps.
